22° Halo

22° Halo

A 22° Halo  is an optical light effect in the form of a ring with a radius of approximately 22° around the sun or the moon. LMF’s correspondent band brings the soundtrack to this phenomenon on stage. Now, how does this sound? The quartet fuses space, groove and melody skillfully together. Méan’s sensible piano-spheres merge wondrously with Fries‘ luscious voice. She owns a sure instinct for rhythm, lyrics and phrasing and navigates lightly through the music. Liechti on the drums grounds the hole band cosmos, and creates space for Traxel’s flying basslines. Sometimes it’s not easy to locate who is giving the impulses for the improvisations, interpretations or compositions. And that’s exactly the reason why this band floats so mysteriously through space and time. These four musicians are all rooted in jazz tradition, but now as a band striking out on new paths – just like the on ice crystals refracted light.

  • Marc Méan – piano
  • Lukas Traxel – double bass
  • Valentin Liechti – drums
  • LMF – vocals
